Golf is a Walking Sport!

Within the last 20 years, golf carts have become common in the United States .  Sadly it has brought on the demise of walking and the caddie.  As someone who was introduced to this game as a caddie, I am very passionate about playing the game the way it was meant to be - walking.

Many times courses opt for the economic benefit of the golf cart rather than uphold the tradition of the game.  While golf carts are acceptable for people who do not have the capacity to walk 18 holes, there is no excuse for an able body person to ride in a cart.  Unfortunately, many courses now do not provide the opportunity to walk.

Whether it is enjoying the nature or reflecting on your game, so much of this game is experienced when walking.  Often I laugh when I see people ride in a golf cart and later in the day I see them on the tread mill at the gym.  They don't know what they are missing!
